The Island of Murano has been around for more than a thousand years and has been the glassmaking center of Venice since the 13th century. Today, artists continue to craft glass products that range from glass beads, large mosaic tiles, elaborate chandeliers and beautiful works of art. There are many tours offered by various groups, ours was by Viator, which allow you to travel to two or three islands close to Venice. Our trip was to Murano and Burano. It was nice to take a leisurely boat ride from the large crowds of Venice to these two delightful and smaller islands
I was unable to take my camera into the shop where all the glass was displayed but during the demonstration I snapped numerous shots, especially since I am a Denver Bronco fan and….I believe so is this glass blower.
