Salzburg, Austria – The Sound of Music Tour & St. Rupert’s Fair

We literally had 17 hours (including sleep) in Salzburg, Austria. One of the best ways to see the town and the mountainside is The Sound of Music Tour. We booked ours through Viator and was one of the highlights of our trip. The tour guide David was so funny and informative we found ourselves smiling and yes…singing much of the day.

The mountains & towns of Austria were magical.

This video is of the tour and us singing Do Re Mi as well as some of the countryside.

We were lucky enough to be in Salzburg when St. Rupert’s fair was occurring.  It was held in one of the squares surrounding  the Salzburg Cathedral.  If you didn’t know (and we didn’t know) St. Rupert is one of Salzburg’s patron saints and is one of the city’s most popular fairs.  We enjoyed a beer and…..Lebarkãse sandwich, which was like liverwurst and had sauerkraut & mustard.
