The Venetian Masks

Venetian masks are a centuries-old tradition of Venice. These beautiful masks are typically worn during the Carnival of Venice, but have been used on many other occasions in the past.  I love the intrigue of the mask, which was usually used as a device for hiding the wearer’s identity and social status.  I tried one on and my husband could hardly recognize me:)
